Bombshell Construction Services was selected, with a low bid of $893,200, to construct improvements at Logan Park along Schoettler Road in Chesterfield. The selection was approved by the City Council at its meeting on Oct. 18

The park will be built in multiple phases. Phase 1 will include an ADA-accessible playground, a small pavilion with restrooms and a parking lot. Phase 2 will focus on trails, native educational gardens, additional shade structures around the playground and two pickleball courts.

Tom McCarthy, director of parks, recreation and arts, said the improvements will primarily be funded by two St. Louis County Municipal Park grants.

Logan University provided land for the 12-acre park near the south campus entrance; however, the park will be developed and maintained by Chesterfield. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in August 2021.

Logan Park will be the first and only park in Ward 3.
