Get ready for a night full of music, fun and fundraising on July 14. The Defenders Gateway Support Foundation is partnering with nonprofits Little Patriots Embraced and First Responders’ Children’s Foundation to sponsor a Concert for the Children at The Factory in Chesterfield.

“(The proceeds given to) Little Patriots Embraced will go toward families’ needs; the ones who have lost a loved one or a spouse in battle. (The money will) cover medical costs, housing, clothing – needs that are no longer being provided by the lost parent or spouse,” said Corey Schonhorst, vice president of marketing and public relations for the Defenders Gateway Network, the parent organization of the Defenders Gateway Support Foundation. “The money from First Responders’ Children’s Foundation will go toward scholarships, medical attention, school supplies and clothing for children that have lost a parent in the line of duty.”

Schonhorst is the host of the event.

“I’m extremely excited (to host the concert),” Schonhorst said. “I’m the only individual in my family who didn’t serve in the military, so this is a great way for me to give back and be part of something to provide an outlet for those who have sacrificed so much for us.”

Native St. Louisans The Steve Ewing Band, Dirty Muggs and DJ Arty J are just some of the artists performing at the event.

The doors will open at 6 p.m., but the show doesn’t begin until 6:30 p.m., leaving plenty of time to nosh on the general concessions available for purchase, along with a few sweet treats from partnering vendors.

Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com. General admission begins at $30. For more information on the Defenders Gateway Foundation and more of their events, visit thedefendersnetwork.com or call (888) 983-1633.
