Growing old isn’t easy. From health concerns to mobility issues to housing needs to estate planning, there are so many things to consider when striving to live your best life.

But who do you turn to for reliable, trusted help and advice?

That question prompted the development of the Serving Our Seniors (S.O.S.) group within the West St Louis County Chamber of Commerce. The group has become a powerful champion of seniors and their families.

Comprised of Chamber members who have expertise that seniors might need or want, the group can provide a critical resource for the greater St. Louis Community by way of referrals and recommendations within S.O.S. Currently, S.O.S has 67 members.

Membership is open to any West St Louis County Chamber of Commerce member that provides a product or service, which is potentially helpful to local older adults. The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. to share ideas, which can lead to community outreach, such as the Senior Lifestyle Expo.

Other local events that S.O.S. members are proud to sponsor as a group or individually include the programs of the Lafayette Older Adults Program, or LOAP. From September through May, LOAP hosts bi-monthly meetings at the Ballwin Golf Course that provides seniors with entertainment, informative programs and guest speakers, bingo and socialization.

S.O.S is committed to making a difference in the lives of older adults and their families within the local community. It is the goal of its members to educate and inform seniors and their families about the products and services available through trusted West St. Louis County Chamber members.

S.O.S. members are available to help with any business referrals from travel to finance, insurance to retirement living, estate planning to help at home and so much more. Members also are available for speaking engagements to groups and organizations – all with the goal of helping local residents to live their best lives.

Are you a business that wants more information on Chamber and S.O.S. membership? Or an organization or group in search of a guest speaker? Call Lori Kelling or Heather Zerweck at (636) 230-9900. They’ll be happy to help.
